Lights, Camera, Action! Submission video tips for hackers

We know the demo video might be the last thing on your mind, but it needs time and care too! It's often the first thing that judges review. Your video tells the story behind your project, providing a clear avenue to showcase your agentic application. 

Prep your elevator pitch and don’t forget to include

  • Show, don't tell. Get to the live demo fast (within the first 20 to 30 seconds). Judges lose interest during long intros.
  • Name the specific AWS services and CockroachDB features on screen (text overlay or slide) so judges can confirm them quickly.

There are two weeks left in the CockroachDB × AWS Hackathon, and here's a tip that takes five minutes and removes a lot of last-minute stress: start your submission on Devpost now.

You don't need a finished project to do this. Starting a submission simply opens the form and shows you exactly what we're asking for. Think of it like seeing the exam questions ahead of time. Once you know what fields you need to fill in, you can build toward them instead of scrambling at the deadline.
